Robert A Cheney, MD Dr. Robert Cheney joined Capital Region Orthopedic Group in 1996 and specializes in general orthopedics. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Cheney is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is an associate clinical instructor at the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Albany Medical Center. Dr. Cheney received his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. His postgraduate work included an internship at Maine Medical Center's Department of Surgery. He completed his residency training at Akron General Medical Center and Children's Medical Center at Hospital of Akron. He completed his fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in the spine division of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Cheney has numerous memberships in professional societies and is affiliated with the following groups:
